The spirited bowling spells from Pakistan’s Naseem Shah and Abbas Afridi could not save St Kitts and Nevis Patriots as Guyana Amazon Warriors sealed a five-wicket win in their CPL 2025 clash on Friday.

Patriots, after being put into bat by Warriors’ skipper Imran Tahir, posted 153/8 in 20 overs. Andre Fletcher top-scored with a fiery 60 off 41 balls, hammering five sixes and a four. Jyd Goolie chipped in with 24 from 15, while Abbas Afridi added 10 runs. However, the rest of the batting lineup struggled, with seven players failing to cross double figures.

For Warriors, Dwaine Pretorius was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3/43. Skipper Imran Tahir bowled a tight spell of 2/29, including a maiden, while Shamar Joseph, Romario Shepherd, and Gudakesh Motie grabbed a wicket each.

Chasing 154, Warriors made light work of the target, reaching 154/5 in just 17.2 overs. Opener Ben McDermott led the charge with a blistering 75 off 39 balls, smashing 10 fours and 4 sixes. Shai Hope then guided his team home with an unbeaten 56 from 39 deliveries, laced with five fours and two sixes.

Among Patriots’ bowlers, Abbas Afridi impressed with figures of 2/24 in his two overs, while Naseem Shah was economical with 1/19 in three overs. Fazalhaq Farooqi and Waqar Salamkheil picked up a wicket each, but their efforts went in vain as the Warriors cruised to victory.
