Former Chief Executive of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) - Wasim Khan - is in line to become the General Manager at the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Wasim Khan has been shortlisted for the role and will be interviewed in Dubai next week, according to George Dobell.

Currently, the GM position at the ICC remains vacant as Geoff Allardice was promoted to the role of ICC's CEO. Geoff had occupied the position for the previous eight years before his step up.

According to sources, Wasim Khan is set to fight former West Indies batter Adrian Griffith for the role.

It is worth pointing out that Khan was also in contention to replace Tom Harrison as the ECB chief executive. However, if he is appointed as the GM at the ICC then he will be ruled out of the race for the position.

Other candidates for the ECB job could include Johnny Grave (currently with CWI), Guy Lavender (MCC), Richard Bevan (League Managers Association) as well as internal candidates such as Clare Connor, David Mahoney and Neil Snowball.
