A tense moment unfolded on Day 3 of the second Test between Pakistan and South Africa when South African allrounder Wiaan Mulder threw a ball aggressively at Pakistan’s Babar Azam, leading to a heated exchange.

The incident occurred during the 32nd over of Pakistan’s second innings. After Babar played a drive, Mulder fielded the ball and threw it back, striking Babar’s pads. The throw appeared unnecessary and triggered a verbal confrontation between the two players. Words were exchanged before South Africa’s Aiden Markram stepped in to calm the situation.

A video of the altercation went viral on social media, with fans debating the intensity of the moment.

Despite the tension, Pakistan’s openers Shan Masood and Babar Azam provided a strong response after South Africa enforced the follow-on. The duo put together a remarkable 205-run partnership for the first wicket.

Shan Masood reached an unbeaten century, ending the day on 102, while Pakistan stood at 213/1 at stumps. This impressive recovery came after the visitors were bowled out for just 194 in their first innings, losing their last six wickets for 76 runs.

The partnership between Masood and Babar kept South Africa’s bowlers at bay for a session and a half, giving Pakistan hope of saving the match.
