Players are getting fitter every day, and there is no doubt that once they put forth heroic fielding efforts, they receive honor from around the world. But when Barry McCarthy made a spectacular move to save a specific six at long-on, even Matthew Wade stood with the supporters at the Gabba to applaud him.

Australia was on their way to amassing a large total against Ireland on Monday in a critical Group 1 match of the present T20 World Cup by reaching 108/4 in 14 overs. Marcus Stoinis was still in the middle, and Tim David and Matthew Wade were standing by. Then, in the subsequent over, Barry McCarthy stunned everyone with an outstanding fielding performance down the boundary line.

McCarthy was considered to be the best Irish bowler when he claimed the wickets of David Warner and Mitchell Marsh. Stoinis lofted a slower delivery outside off stump and toward long-on in the 15th over, delivered by Mark Adair. The ball attempted to travel as high above the sky as possible and appeared to be moving away from the ropes.

McCarthy, though, had other ideas. Before realising that his body had crossed the line, he went high while sprinting to his left and initially collected the ball. He promptly pushed the ball inside the boundary ropes to prevent a specific six and fell awkwardly after doing so with the quick presence of mind. Stoinis could only take a few runs as opposed to six.

McCarthy's brilliant fielding attempt was witnessed by Australia's wicketkeeper Matthew Wade, who was standing directly behind McCarthy. He couldn't help but clap, just like the audience at the Gabba.
