Muzaffarabad Tigers’ pacer Mohammad Wasim Jnr bagged a hat-trick, against Rawalakot Hawks, in the ongoing Kashmir Premier League (KPL) on Monday.

In the second game of the day, the Hawks had won the toss and decided to bat first but they were soon made to regret that decision as Wasim wreaked havoc in his very first over.

Wasim first removed opener Bismillah Khan, followed by Kashif Ali and finally completed his hat-trick by sending Umar Amin packing.

The right armer made his T20I debut during the recently concluded series against West Indies.

Despite Wasim’s heroics, Tigers lost the match by one run after a thrilling finish.

The Hawks recovered to post 175/7 in their allotted 20 overs, courtesy fifties by opener Ahmed Shehzad (50 off 33) and middle-order batsman Hussain Talat (69 off 46).

In reply, Tigers’ skipper Mohammad Hafeez took the match deep with his 31-ball 44 but was unable to take his team over the line.

For Hawks, local boy Zaman Khan was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/27 in four overs.

Meanwhile, Imran Randhawa, who also bowled the crucial final over, and Asif Afridi claimed two wickets each.
