Naseem has once again showcased his all-rounder skills, proving he is not just a valuable asset with the ball
In the ongoing first Test match between Pakistan and England in Multan, Naseem Shah, renowned for his prowess as a young bowler, displayed his batting capabilities with a remarkable six that left spectators in awe. Having been promoted to night-watchman on the opening day, Naseem has once again showcased his all-rounder skills, proving he is not just a valuable asset with the ball.
After facing just three balls as a night-watchman, Naseem returned to the crease in the morning session of Day 2, joining forces with Saud Shakeel to build a solid partnership. His explosive batting was highlighted when he struck Shoaib Bashir for an authoritative six on the second delivery of the 97th over.
Utilizing his footwork brilliantly, Naseem danced down the track to connect with a full delivery on middle stump, sending the ball soaring over long-on. The clean hit exemplified his batting prowess, leaving the crowd buzzing with excitement.
Not stopping there, Naseem went on to repeat the feat against spinner Jack Leach, showcasing his ability to take on the bowlers with confidence. Ultimately, he was dismissed for 33 runs in the 106th over, but his contributions were vital as Pakistan looks to set a formidable first innings total.
At the other end, Saud Shakeel also reached a significant milestone, crossing the fifty-run mark. Earlier on Day 1, Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood had set the tone for Pakistan's innings with impressive centuries, with Masood scoring 151 and Shafique contributing 102 runs.
However, not all went according to plan for Pakistan as skipper Babar Azam failed to convert his promising start against an inexperienced English bowling attack. With the pitch appearing flat and favorable for batting, the upcoming days are expected to challenge the bowlers, setting the stage for an exciting Test match ahead.
