Haris Rauf's bad throw deprived the team of a run-out opportunity
England defeated Pakistan by six wickets in their opening Twenty20 World Cup 2022 warm-up match.
While Pakistan struggled in all departments, their performance on the field was summed up by one failed run-out that left Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan angry. Shadab, Pakistan's captain then, was unhappy to see players lose concentration on the field and miss a golden opportunity to remove an England batsman.

At the Gabba, Pakistan bowler Haris Rauf's bad throw deprived the team of a run-out opportunity. One of England's most in-form batters, Liam Livingstone, had a lifeline in the match due to Rauf's errant throw. Even stand-in captain Shadab reacted angrily to Rauf's failure to capitalize on the occasion.
On this occasion, Harry Brook, the non-striker, initially lacked interest in taking a single. As he began to leave his crease, Livingstone halted.
The circumstance produced a great deal of confusion between the two before they chose to run. Livingstone knew he wouldn't reach it halfway down the field in time, but Rauf's throw was such that neither the stumps nor Shadab (the bowler) could catch it.

Livingstone would have been caught much outside his crease if Rauf had chosen to pass the ball to Shadab rather than try to hit the stumps himself.
Nevertheless, England finished quickly after setting a 161-run goal. The leading scorer for England was Harry Brook (45 runs off 24 balls), while Sam Curran also got 33 runs off 14 balls without being stopped.
