Lahore Qalandars captain, Shaheen Afridi, put on an exhibition of searing Yorkers in his first spell against Quetta Gladiators on Tuesday in HBL Pakistan Super League.
While defending a target of 199, the left-arm pacer gave an ideal start to his side as he trapped Quetta opener, Bangalzai, with a scorching in-swinging yorker. The emerging batsman was dismissed for a duck.

Following Bangalzai’s dismissal, ball after ball, Shaheen kept it simple. Run in hard and hit the blockhole.
Shaheen in the same over bowled a full delivery on leg stump that shaped backed into Jason Roy very late. The left-arm pacer appealed, but it was turned down. Qalandars captain wasn’t convinced and took the review. However, the review showed it was pitched just a little outside leg stump.
Shaheen started his second over also with a yorker on off stump, which Guptill picked it up just in time.
When Roy came back on strike, Shaheen bowled his most lethal yorker which led to Roy falling over. Shaheen again appeal for lbw but was denied again. He decided to use his remaining review as well.
The review showed the impact on this one was just outside leg stump and Roy survived again.

Shaheen dismissed Odean Smith and Qais Ahmed in his second spell, to finish with three wickets, while conceding 22 runs, leading his side to a victory of 63 runs.
The left-arm pacer was adjudged player of the match for his match-winning spell.
