Warriors are yet to lose a match this season under all-rounder’s captaincy
Skipper Shoaib Malik’s all-round display helped Guyana Amazon Warriors register a 77-run victory over Jamaica Tallawahs on Thursday in the 2019 Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
Warriors had slumped to 8 for 4 inside the first two overs, before Malik and left-hand batsman Sherfane Rutherford recovered the innings with their 82-run partnership.
Rutherford departed after scoring 45 runs, but Malik’s unbeaten knock of 73 from 45 balls propelled Warriors to a score of 156-6 in their allotted 20 overs. His innings included five fours and two sixes.

The 37-year-old was adjudged player of the match for his impressive performance.
Warriors have already qualified for the playoffs and are yet to lose a match this season under Malik’s captaincy.
