Bangladesh and Sri Lanka played arguably the best of the 2022 Asia Cup yesterday and eventually, the hosts, Sri Lanka turned out as winners.

Bangladesh became the first side to eliminate despite posting over 180. The Lankans chased down the target, qualifying for the Super Four Round.

Meanwhile, there was a funny exchange between on-air commentators Athar Ali Khan and Wasim Akram that became the main attraction.

Mushfiqur Rahim came to the crease and the broadcaster displayed the Bangladesh wicketkeeper's stats on the screen, which impressed Khan, but Wasim downplayed his remarks.

Former Bangladesh captain has scored 1500 runs at an average of 19.48 in 93 innings. He has registered six fifties only.

"It's the experience of Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib-Al-Hasan that might just work in favor of Bangladesh. Have a look at those stats. More than 100 matches, closing in on 1500 runs and a strike rate of 115," Khan said on air, stressing on that last detail of Rahim's batting.

"Not the best strike-rate I must say. He's an experienced campaigner. He really is, but this format, if you see the strike rate of the top players of the world, it has to be in my opinion, more than 130. Ideally, in this format."
