West Indies legends announce star-studded squad for WCL 2025

The West Indies Legends have announced a powerful and well-balanced squad for the second season of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025, featuring a mix of iconic names and experienced players.

Leading the charge are world-renowned stars like Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, and Dwayne Bravo—players known for their explosive style and match-winning abilities. The squad also includes dependable veterans such as Shivnarine Chanderpaul and left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn, adding strength and balance to the lineup.

In the batting department, fans can expect fireworks from the likes of Gayle, Pollard, Dwayne Smith, and Lendl Simmons, all of whom have a reputation for dominating T20 formats. The bowling attack, on the other hand, features the pace and experience of Fidel Edwards, Shannon Gabriel, and Sheldon Cottrell.

The spin unit looks solid as well, with Ashley Nurse, Nikita Miller, Dave Mohammed, and Sulieman Benn bringing variety and control. Meanwhile, Chanderpaul’s calm presence in the middle order is expected to provide much-needed stability.

Other notable names in the squad include wicketkeeper-batters Chadwick Walton and William Perkins, as well as spinner Tharindu Rathnayake, adding depth to an already strong team.

The WCL 2025 will run from July 18 to August 2, with matches taking place across four iconic English venues: Edgbaston in Birmingham, County Ground in Northampton, Grace Road in Leicester, and Headingley in Leeds. Six teams will take part in the competition—India Champions, Pakistan Champions, Australia Champions, South Africa Champions, England Champions, and West Indies Champions. Each team will face the others in a round-robin stage, with the top four qualifying for the knockout rounds.

The West Indies Legends will kick off their WCL 2025 campaign against South Africa Legends on July 19.
