West Indies are set to commence their Super 8 journey in the T20 World Cup 2024 against England at the Darren Sammy Cricket Ground in Saint Lucia on Thursday.

The match, which starts at 5:30 AM PST, holds special significance as England faces West Indies, recalling their clash in the T20 World Cup 2016 final in Kolkata, India. In that memorable encounter, Carlos Brathwaite's late heroics propelled the Caribbean team to their second World Cup title in four years, leaving England with lingering memories ahead of their upcoming fixture.

Rovman Powell's West Indies side breezed through their group stage with convincing victories in all matches, including commanding wins over Uganda and Afghanistan by 134 and 104 runs respectively. Known for their well-rounded squad, West Indies are expected to pose a formidable challenge to Jos Buttler's England team.

Key players such as Nicholas Pooran, Powell, Johnson Charles, and Shai Hope are anticipated to trouble the English bowling attack.

Meanwhile, England navigated their group stage with varying performances, relying on a crucial win by Australia over Scotland to advance. Buttler's team showcased dominance with a swift dismissal of Oman for 47 runs, chased down in just 3.1 overs, significantly boosting their Net Run Rate (NRR). In another rain-affected match against Namibia, England posted 122 runs in 10 overs and secured a 41-run victory via the DLS method.
