Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium is undergoing the final touches of renovation ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. As part of the upgrades, a trench has been constructed between the pavilion and the playing field.
The purpose of this trench is to enhance security and prevent fans from entering the ground during matches. The trench is 10 feet wide and 10 feet deep, with green-colored fences installed on both sides to further strengthen security measures.
Additionally, there are plans to install a net over the trench to ensure that balls landing in it after big sixes can be retrieved easily.
Gaddafi Stadium is set to be inaugurated on February 7th, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expected as the chief guest. The venue has been upgraded with modernized seating, improved floodlights, and enhanced security.
