He pointed out that social media allows people to block or ignore messages if they don’t want to reply
Pakistan’s all-rounder Shadab Khan has spoken up after claims that national team cricketers send messages to actresses on social media.
During an appearance on local show, Shadab said that such issues are often exaggerated. He pointed out that social media allows people to block or ignore messages if they don’t want to reply.
“Even if cricketers send messages, what is wrong with that?” he said. “There are also replies from actors, and they appear to show interest as well—as if they want to talk.”
Shadab also suggested that some actors bring up these topics just to gain attention, especially during big cricket events.
“We have seen some videos where things are made to look bigger than they actually are. Some actors do it for fame,” he added.
The controversy started when Pakistani actress Nawal Saeed shared her concerns about receiving random messages from cricketers.
Speaking on a show, she said, “You are representing Pakistan. You have verified accounts with blue ticks. How can you just randomly send messages and compliments to a girl?”
Nawal stressed the need for professional behavior, saying, “This is not how it should be.”
