The player draft for the Big Bash League (BBL) and the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) will take place on June 19.

International cricketers can register for the draft through the nomination portal starting from April 28.

Teams participating in the leagues can select up to four foreign players during the draft process.

In the BBL 15 draft, Brisbane Heat received the first pick, while in the WBBL 11 draft, Sydney Sixers secured the first pick. The draft ceremony will be broadcast live.

Big Bash Leagues General Manager Alistair Dobson stated that the announcement of the lottery draft order will increase the interest of international players in the league.

Dobson also mentioned that the announcement of the draft date will help clubs better understand player availability.
