In the ruling, the judge stated that if Imran Khan fails to pay the fine, he will face an additional six months in prison
Former Pakistan cricket captain and founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison in the 190-million-pound case.
The verdict, delivered by Judge Nasir Javed Rana at Adiala Jail, also includes a fine of 1 million rupees for Imran Khan. His wife, Bushra Bibi, was sentenced to 7 years in prison along with a fine of 500,000 rupees.
In the ruling, the judge stated that if Imran Khan fails to pay the fine, he will face an additional six months in prison. Similarly, Bushra Bibi will serve an additional three months if her fine is not paid.
The court also ordered the nationalization of Al-Qadir Trust University. Following the verdict, Bushra Bibi was taken into custody from the courtroom. Judge Nasir Javed Rana departed the court premises after delivering the decision.
