In a thrilling finale to the T20 World Cup 2024, India emerged victorious over South Africa, securing their place as champions for the second time after 17 years.

The final match in Barbados saw India set a target of 177 runs. Despite losing three early wickets, including that of skipper Rohit Sharma, the team rallied under the steadfast performance of Virat Kohli, who scored 76 runs off 59 deliveries in what turned out to be the last T20I match of his illustrious career.

Ultimately, it was the Indian bowlers who clinched the victory by restricting South Africa to 169, winning the final by seven runs.

As Rohit Sharma walked towards his team to lift the trophy, his confident stride caught the attention of none other than WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.

Flair, renowned for his flamboyant entrances, was reminded of his own walks to the wrestling ring. The Indian captain’s celebration was actually inspired by Lionel Messi’s iconic moment after Argentina’s 2022 FIFA World Cup win, a suggestion from teammate Kuldeep Yadav.

However, the 16-time former World Champion couldn't help but draw a parallel to his own legendary style.

Flair took to his X account (formerly Twitter) to share a video of Sharma's moment, adding his signature flair with the caption, “Taking A Page Out Of My Playbook! WOOOOO!”

It is worth noting that the Indian team had a successful T20 World Cup campaign, remaining unbeaten throughout and securing the title for the second time after 17 years.

This accomplishment makes India the third team, alongside England and West Indies, to win the T20 World Cup twice.
