Leg-spinner Yasir Shah is unhappy after being overlooked for the two-match Test series against Zimbabwe next month.
While speaking in a press conference today, Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim claimed that Yasir is unavailable for the Africa tour due to injury.
"Zahid Mahmood replaces Yasir Shah, who is unavailable due to injury. He is still undergoing rehabilitation. Saqlain Mushtaq is also working with him in the biomechanics lab. We are trying to ensure that he remains injury-free when he returns," said Wasim.
Yasir was advised two weeks rest after the South Africa Test series as he suffered a minor injury during the first Test in Karachi.
Sources close to Yasir claim that the leg-spinner has already undergone rehab and is feeling fit. Yasir’s final MRI report is due in the next two days, but the Chief Selector didn’t wait for it and left him out of the aforementioned squad.
Yasir is upset as Wasim didn’t even bother to talk to him before taking the decision. The leg-spinner found out through the media that he was not considered due to injury.
