Yograj Singh, former Indian cricketer and father of legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, has strongly criticized Pakistan’s former spinner Saqlain Mushtaq for his controversial remarks about the India National Cricket Team following their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 victory.

Saqlain Mushtaq recently suggested that if India considers itself a top cricketing nation, it should play a full series of 10 Tests, 10 ODIs, and 10 T20Is against Pakistan. His comments quickly went viral, prompting a sharp response from Yograj Singh.

Yograj Singh did not hold back in his response, stating that Pakistan does not even deserve to face the current Indian cricket team. He criticized Mushtaq for questioning India’s cricketing dominance and pointed out that Pakistan's standards are nowhere near India’s across all formats.

Earlier, Saqlain had claimed that Pakistan only needed to resolve its internal issues to start producing better results.

However, Yograj was quick to criticize Pakistan’s cricket structure, saying, “A country that hasn’t learned in 78 years can’t be taught anything, especially by those who constantly criticize their own players.”

Yograj then said, “I read Saqlain's comment. What are you trying to get into? They don’t know how to appreciate it. They just speak. So, a lot of mouths were shut. They haven't learned in 78 years. What can I teach them? People who keep berating their players, what can you teach them?”

Yograj Singh also took a jab at Pakistan's cricketing standards, suggesting that Pakistan should learn from India not only how to run a game but also how to manage a country.

He said, “They should learn how to run a country from India and its government. It feels like India is playing a local team. They should try to play against our 'B' team.”

Pakistan had a disappointing campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where they were knocked out in the group stage without a single win. The team lost to both India and New Zealand, and their final match against Bangladesh was washed out due to rain in Rawalpindi. Pakistan finished at the bottom of the Group A points table with just one point from three matches, making them the first host nation to exit the tournament without a victory.

Despite their struggles, Saqlain Mushtaq had challenged India, claiming that a series with 10 Tests, 10 ODIs, and 10 T20Is would settle any doubts about Pakistan's cricketing abilities.

Saqlain Mushtaq had made his comments during an appearance on a TV show.

He said, “If you are really a good team, I think let’s play 10 Tests, 10 ODIs, and 10 T20Is against Pakistan, and then everything would become clear.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan is set to leave for New Zealand soon for a white-ball series.
