Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh showered praise on the fitness levels of international cricket teams, emphasizing the importance of physical conditioning in the modern game.
While giving an interview, Yuvraj, highlighted the excellent fitness standards of teams from Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, and even Pakistan during the 2017 Champions Trophy.
"The Australian guys have always been very fit. South African team has been fit. Kiwi guys very fit. When we lost Champions Trophy to Pakistan in 2017, that Pakistani team was very fit," Yuvraj said.
It is worth noting that Pakistan won the ICC Champions Trophy, under the leadership of Sarfaraz Ahmed on June 18,2017.
Pakistan defeated India in the final at The Oval by 180 runs to win their first-ever Champions Trophy title.
After being asked to bat first by India, Pakistan posted a daunting total of 338-4. While chasing the target, India were dismissed for 158 runs in 30.3 overs.
Fakhar Zaman was awarded player of the match for scoring 114 runs off 106 balls, meanwhile Hasan Ali bagged the player of the tournament award after taking 13 wickets in five innings.
