According to sources, Abbas is likely to be nominated for the PCB's Board of Governors (BoG) as a first step. The former cricketer is anticipated to represent the State Bank of Pakistan in the BoG, bringing his extensive experience and leadership to the table.

Widely regarded as one of Pakistan’s greatest batters, Zaheer Abbas, known as the "Asian Bradman," achieved remarkable feats during his career. He was the first Pakistani to score 100 first-class centuries and is celebrated for his elegant stroke play and consistency.
