Leg-spinner Zahid Mehmood has been named as pacer Naseem Shah’s replacement, it was announced on Saturday.

Naseem has been advised five-day rest after the 17-year-old twisted his left ankle during the March 5 HBL PSL 2020 fixture between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi in Rawalpindi.

The replacement was approved by the event’s technical committee which includes PCB CEO Wasim Khan, Bazid Khan, Marina Iqbal, Sameer Khosa and Dr Sohail Saleem.

Earlier, Quetta suffered a big blow, early in the match against Peshawar Zalmi on Thursday when its 17-year-old pacer Naseem Shah left the field with a sprained left ankle after bowling two economical overs, conceding just six runs.

It must be noted that Naseem missed the first two games of ongoing HBL PSL after the medical panel advised Quetta Gladiators to rest him inorder to nurse his injured ribs.
