Pakistan’s Twenty20 International (T20I) captain Babar Azam has made it clear that he has no intention to leave his current Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Karachi Kings.

Babar, in an Instagram live session with Pakistan Test captain Azhar Ali, expressed his loyalty towards Karachi while replying to a question about the possibility of playing for his home city Lahore in future.

“You should not leave the team you have been playing for. Throughout, I have been playing for Karachi Kings so I should stick with them,” Babar said. “Just because I am performing well doesn’t mean that I should keep changing my team.”

The top-order batsman also revealed the bowlers that have given him a hard time in international cricket.

“Every team has bowlers that bowl above 140 KPH and are experienced. Bowlers like [Josh] Hazlewood, [Mitchell] Starc, [Pat] Cummins and [Trent] Boult always give you a tough time,” he said. “But, I didn’t have any difficulty facing Dale Steyn. His action is clean so it is easier to spot the ball.”

The 25-year-old regards his match-winning unbeaten 101-run knock against New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup as the favourite innings of his career.

“My favourite innings was against New Zealand in World Cup,” he said.  “The ball was spinning a lot. Hafeez bhai asked me to approach the Kiwi spinners like you are playing a Test match. So I tried to play as straight as possible which worked. ”
