This season, Babar Azam will be playing for Peshawar Zalmi, adding another layer to the rivalries in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Former Pakistan pacer and Lahore Qalandars coach Aaqib Javed believes that after Babar Azam departs from Karachi Kings, cricket fans will be more interested to see the friendly rivalry between Karachi and Peshawar instead of Lahore.

"Babar Azam will play for Peshawar Zalmi in PSL8, and so the rivalries of Lahore Qalandars will now be Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi in PSL," Aaqib said.
"The rivalry between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings in PSL is similar to India and Pakistan," he maintained.
Fans of the Lahore Qalandars are urging fast bowler Shaheen Afridi to take down Matthew Wade of the Karachi Kings.
"Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings have a heated rivalry in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) that is reminiscent of the India-Pakistan rivalry," he said
This match-up will surely be one of the highlights of the HBL PSL8 season.
Despite their efforts, the Karachi Kings may struggle to match the quality of the fast bowlers on the Lahore Qalandars team.
"The fans of Lahore Qalandars are telling Shaheen Afridi not to spare Matthew Wade of Karachi Kings in PSL8. This will be an exciting moment in PSL. Karachi Kings cannot match the quality of fast bowling Lahore Qalandars has in PSL8. You cannot match Mohammad Amir with Shaheen Afridi or Mir Hamza with Haris Rauf or Amir Yamin with Zaman Khan," he concluded.
