Pakistan Head Coach Mickey Arthur has admitted his mistake and subsequently apologised to veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez for his wrong attitude towards him.
According to Daily Express, during the recently concluded T20I series between Pakistan and New Zealand, the coach approached Hafeez and admitted that ‘he had made wrong point of view for him’ and for that he is sorry.
“I admit that I was wrong about you, so I apologise and assure you this will not happen again,” a source quoted Arthur. “You are still very useful for the team.”
The all-rounder was left out from the side during the Asia Cup. However, he made a comeback into the Pakistan squad for the two-match Test series against Australia. With his impressive form he earned himself a spot in T20I against the kangaroos as well.
Meanwhile, the sources also revealed, Arthur attitude with Azhar Ali was the reason behind batsman’s retirement decision from limited overs.
The report revealed that Ali was continuously ignored by the coach and he knew that he was not going to get a chance in ODIs again, so he decided to quit the limited overs game despite wanting to continue.
Moreover Shan Masood is also unhappy with the head coach. He had texted Arthur and asked him why he is being ignored despite his good form with the bat. The source further revealed that Arthur had discussed this matter with several players of the team but has not replied to Masood yet.
