BBL: Renegades down Hurricanes by six wickets

Melbourne Renegades have defeated Hobart Hurricanes by six wickets during the ongoing Big Bash League match at the Docklands Stadium in Melbourne.

Hurricanes posted 145-5 in their allotted 20 overs, the Renegades had won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Despite losing three wickets for just 11 runs on the board, Ben McDermott and George Bailey stitched a brilliant 102-run partnership for the fourth wicket — which laid the foundation for a competitive total.

Bailey top-scored with unbeaten 70 runs off 53 balls while McDermott scored 50 runs off 43 balls.

For the Renegades, pacer Kane Richardson claimed three wickets for 38 runs.

In reply, the home side secured victory in the final over of the innings by six wickets.

Winning side captain Aaron Finch top-scored with 42 runs while Sam Harper scored 32 runs.

Mohammad Nabi and Dan Christian remained unbeaten on 26 and 25 runs respectively.
