Chopra warns against comparing ‘cut above the rest’ Babar with Kohli

Former Indian opener and renowned commentator Aakash Chopra was impressed with Pakistan’s prolific batsman Babar Azam’s exploits in the recently concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five but warned against comparing him with India’s star batsman Virat Kohli.

Babar scored a commanding fifty to help the Karachi Kings win their maiden PSL title with a five-wicket win over the Lahore Qalandars on Tuesday.

Azam smacked seven boundaries in his 49-ball 63, but it was skipper Imad Wasim who hit the winning shot to help the Kings chase down a modest 135-run target in 18.4 overs.

Babar finished the tournament with 473 runs, including three player of the match awards, which helped him to win the awards for Best batsman and player of the tournament.

Chopra believes that Babar is ‘cut above the rest’ while also mentioning that late Dean Jones will be happy to see his side lift the trophy.

Later, responding to a Twitter user, Chopra said that Kohli is ahead of every other batsman, when it comes to chasing targets, and it would be unfair to compare him with Babar.
