Dale Steyn brings curtain down on cricket career

South Africa’s former legendary pacer Dale Steyn brought down the curtain on his illustrious cricket career with a heartfelt Tweet on Tuesday.

The 38-year-old stated that it was a bittersweet moment, but he was grateful for his incredible journey.

“It’s been 20 years of training, matches, travel, wins, losses, strapped feet, jet lag, joy and brotherhood. There are too many memories to tell. Too many faces to thank. So, I left it to the experts to sum up, my favorite band, the Counting Crows. Today I officially retire from the game I love the most. Bittersweet but grateful. Thank you to everyone, from family to teammates, journalists to fans, it’s been an incredible journey together,” Steyn tweeted.

The legendary former pacer enjoyed a successful career featuring in 93 Tests, 125 One-Day Internationals (ODI) and 47 Twenty20 Internationals (T20I) picking up 439 wickets, 196 wickets and 64 wickets respectively in each format of the sport.
