Don’t force me to reveal your secrets: Umar Akmal warns fellow cricketers

Pakistan cricketer, Umar Akmal, has caused a stir on social media after issuing a warning to his fellow cricketers. 

In a recent podcast, Akmal expressed frustration at being labeled as "immature" by some of his former teammates, whom he said he respects.

Th 32-year-old has raised eyebrows by hinting at having "shocking secrets" about his former teammates, and warning them not to "force" him to reveal the secrets. 

"Mostly cricketers say that I am not mature. And these cricketers are the ones whom I played cricket with. They are my seniors and I really respect them," he said.

"I would like to say 'don't force me to reveal your secrets'. I have shocking secrets of players and if I reveal them, it will hurt their families too," he added.

The right-hand batsman stated that he respects the innocence of the Pakistan fans, who love watching cricket, and therefore chooses not to reveal these secrets. 

"Our people are too innocent and love watching cricket. I just respect that and don't reveal the secrets I have. If these secrets are revealed, people will stop watching cricket," he concluded.

Umar Akmal played 84 T20I matches for Pakistan, scoring 1690 runs at a healthy strike-rate of 122.73. He has also represented the national side in 16 Tests and 121 ODIs, and has played in World Cup matches. However, he has not played a T20I game since 2019, when he last played against Sri Lanka.
