Foes to friends - Hafeez to play for Sarfaraz-led Gladiators

Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez will make his comeback in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023 but this time for a different franchise team.

This is Hafeez's third franchise team, as he has joined Quetta Gladiators and will play under Sarfaraz Ahmed's captaincy in this year's PSL.

The 42-year-old has replaced Ahsan Ali in the squad, who recently got injured during the practice session.

Previously, Pakistan’s former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed hit back at veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez after the latter’s remarks about wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan.

A few months back, Hafeez praised Rizwan but also stated that the latter was not considered Pakistan’s number one wicketkeeper-batsman despite good performances.

Replying to Hafeez, Sarfaraz said that “whoever has played for Pakistan has always been number one for the country and “respected accordingly.”
