'Full-fledged' West Indies team will tour Pakistan in June 2022: Ramiz Raja

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja was disappointed over the postponement of the Pakistan-West Indies ODI series due to Covid-19 but is confident that a full-fledged Caribbean side will again tour the country in June for the matches.

Cricket West Indies (CWI) with its PCB counterpart decided to postpone the ODI series after five more Covid-19 cases emerged in the visitors' camp before the third T20I. They decided to conclude the T20I series but moved the ODI matches next year.

Meanwhile, the former captain was also impressed with the Men in Green as they chased down 208 in the final T20I, the highest-ever by Pakistan in the history of this format. He also hailed the opening pair of Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam, who yet again piled up runs together.

"Very impressive record chase tonight. Self-belief and calmness was at the heart of that feat!," Ramiz tweeted.

"Great year for Rizwan and he doesn’t have a bad partner in Babar too. Pity about the rescheduling of the ODI series but we will have a full fledged fit West Indies team for that June encounter," he added.
