Grace Scrivens suffers black eye in the Hundred Women's 2024 match after ball hits face

England women's cricketer Grace Scrivens suffered a painful injury during the latest Hundred Women 2024 match between Trent Rockets and London Spirit at Trent Bridge. While attempting to take a catch, the 20-year-old was struck in the face by the ball, leaving her with a black eye and a bruised cheek.

The accident happened when India’s Deepti Sharma hit a ball from Kirstie Gordon, which slipped through Scrivens' hands and hit her face. She was quickly taken off the field by the physio but returned to celebrate with her teammates after the match, her injury clearly visible.

In the match itself, Trent Rockets set a target of 159 runs after their innings. Scrivens and Bryony Smith opened the batting, scoring 55 and 34 runs, respectively. Nat Sciver-Brunt contributed 21 runs off 12 balls, and Heather Graham added an unbeaten 22 runs, bringing the total to 158 runs.
