Hasan Ali expresses optimism for upcoming Test series against West Indies

Pakistan’s pacer Hasan Ali, in a virtual press conference on Wednesday, appeared optimistic for the Men in Green’s chances for the upcoming two-match Test series against West Indies on the back of a one-nil Twenty20 International (T20I) series victory against the same opposition.

The 27-year-old believed that Pakistan’s experienced line-up would help them in the upcoming series.

“We have an experienced bowling and batting line-up for the upcoming Test series. Winning the T20I series despite the rain issues was great for Pakistan. Now all our attention will be on the Test matches. We will try to perform well and win both matches against the hosts,” Hasan said.

The pacer also believed that the current pace attack comprising of fast-bowlers Hasan Ali, Shaheen Shah and Haris Rauf will perform well in the UAE.

“Our pace attack did not perform very well during the tour of England. However, we have been learning from our mistakes and are trying to improve. The bowlers have the ability to perform well. We try to support each other. Unfortunately, we could not get a lot of chances to perform against West Indies due to rain. The bowlers and all other players have kept working hard during this time as well,” he said.

“Shaheen Shah has proved himself on different grounds around the world. Haris Rauf is one of the best T20I bowlers. I have been performing well since my comeback. I am hopeful that this bowling attack will do well in the UAE for Pakistan. We have the time to fix our problems including our middle-order issues and make sure that we are able to perform well as a team,” he concluded.
