Hasan Ali missing Sarfaraz Ahmed as captain

Pakistan’s fast-bowler Hasan Ali, in an Instagram post, heaped praises at the former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, who was replaced by prolific batsman Babar Azam in the Twenty20 International (T20I) format and by opener Azhar Ali in the Test format last year. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is yet to announce his replacement in the One-Day International format (ODI).

The fast-bowler, who was rumoured to have an uneasy relationship with the former captain, posted an emotional story on the popular social media platform which glorified the contributions of Sarfaraz.

“Captain will be my captain. Sometimes he screamed at the bowlers, sometimes he went over and hugged them, sometimes he prayed behind the stumps, and then he won us matches that we had already lost. This was our captain. Lots of respect for this [Sarfaraz] man,” Hasan posted.

The post has put to rest the rumours of animosity between the fast-bowler and the former captain. The heartfelt tribute was displayed on his official Instagram account and was viewed by fans all over the country.
