‘I dedicate ICC award to his mother’: Babar Azam’s father post heartfelt message

Babar Azam’s father, Azam Siddique, posted a heartfelt message for his wife after the Pakistan captain won the Sir Garfield Sobers trophy for ICC Cricketer of the Year on Thursday.

In a tweet, Siddique was grateful to Allah for blessing the Pakistan captain with the aforementioned award.

“The Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for cricketer of the year is one of the blessings from Allah and I dedicate this to Babar’s mother. Till this day, she is always ready to leave any big event and stay home, so that she can feed Babar her home- cooked food when he is home. Pakistan Zindabad,” Siddique tweeted.

 

 

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam also claimed the ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year Award for a second consecutive year.

In a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday, Babar thanked his family for always supporting him.

“It is an honour for me to win this award. I can’t express my happiness in words because I’m now part of an elusive list of legends who have won this award,” Azam said.

“My family, teammates and fans deserve credit for this award since they have always supported me,” he added.
