“Don't know why I was left out," Imad on exclusion from Pakistan team

Karachi Kings captain Imad Wasim was quite unaware of why he was excluded from the Pakistan team in recent times.

In an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Imad stated that the best players who served for the Pakistan team were laid off from the squad, with the media unaware about it.

"I don't know why I was left out of the team; I don't know why. I was never told about my exclusion from the national side, nor was the media aware of it. I think I served for the Pakistan team with pride and dignity, it was quite unfair to remove players who served for Pakistan with dignity, and you all know which players faced injustice," said Imad.

Pakistan all-rounder also stated that representing Pakistan means a lot for him, and for that, he will leave everything behind as Pakistan comes first, but if they call me with respect, I will be happy to make a comeback.

"Talking about a comeback, so I have made 5 to 6 comebacks for the team; it comes and goes, and it's a part of life, but I am not going anywhere; I am very fit, I am playing different leagues worldwide, I am a part of every match, and I am performing very well. On the other side, league cricket has a lot of money, and as we are considered as the ambassadors of Pakistan, so they respect us a lot, so money doesn't matter to us; from where I am getting respect, I will play there, and if Pakistan team with respect me, I will leave everything behind and play for my team," he said.

Imad Wasim is also eager to represent Pakistan again in international cricket and stated that as international cricket is emerging so, we have to adopt that cricketing sense like the way world cricket is happening.

"I told everyone, and I am again saying this, I will play for Pakistan and will play for five years, and it's my number one priority to play for my homeland, and I pray for Pakistan to play cricket like this the way world cricket is happening. Winning or losing is a part of the game, I agree with that, but the time when Pakistan plat any matches, then 'fire with fire' the way white-ball cricket is being played, and whenever I make a comeback in the Pakistan team, I will try to play like this. I will encourage others as well," said Imad.

Reminder for all is that Imad Wasim last played an ODI game way back in 2020 against Zimbabwe in Rawalpindi.
