India far greater security risk than Pakistan: Mani

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani has stated that India is a far greater security risk as compared to Pakistan, after Pakistan celebrated Test cricket's return to the country after a decade with an emotional 1-0 series victory against Sri Lanka on Monday.

A lot of coaxing and cajoling went behind organising the series, which marked Pakistan's first Tests on home soil since the 2009 militant attack on Sri Lanka's team bus in Lahore.

“We have proved that Pakistan is safe, if someone isn’t coming then they should prove that it’s unsafe. At this time, India is a far greater security risk than Pakistan,” said Mani.

"No one should now doubt security arrangements in Pakistan after successful Sri Lanka Test series. This is a turning point for revival of test cricket in Pakistan. Media and fans played an important role in portraying positive image of Pakistan worldwide," he added.

Mani also urged Bangladesh, along with other cricketing nations, to tour Pakistan without hesitation.

"We're in talks with Bangladesh board. Not only Bangladesh, all the teams should have no doubt that PCB will host its home series in Pakistan only. I'm hopeful that Bangladesh will tour Pakistan because there's no reason of not touring. If Sri Lanka can tour Pakistan than why not others," he said.

Bangladesh are due to arrive in January for three T20Is and two Tests and the PCB is hopeful that the full tour would go ahead given that Sri Lanka had returned to the country for the Test series.
