Former wicketkeeper-batsman Rashid Latif has suggested various changes in Pakistan’s Test side after they were clean sweeped two-nil by Australia Down Under.
Latif took to his official Twitter account to announce his playing XI for the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, starting from December 11 in Rawalpindi.
The former Pakistan captain called for the inclusion of discarded middle-order batsman Fawad Alam, who has more than 12,000 first class runs at an average of 56.57. Fawad’s inclusion can bring an end to his decade-long Test cricket drought, as the middle-order batsman last represented Pakistan in the longest format in 2009.

The 51-year-old also wants the chief selector to induct 33-year-old left-arm spinner Nauman Ali in the Men in Green’s side. Nauman, who is representing Northern, is currently the highest wicket-taker in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam (QeA) Trophy with 46 wickets in eight matches at a bowling average of 23.04.
Finally, Latif tried to bring balance to his playing XI by recommending the option of including Aamir Yamin as a bowling all-rounder.
After more than 10 years, Test cricket will return to Pakistan in December when Sri Lanka will play their World Test Championship matches in Rawalpindi and Karachi.
The first Test will be played at the Pindi Cricket Stadium from December 11-15, while the second Test will be held at the National Stadium from December 19-23.
