Rassie van der Dussen scored a belligerent hundred, off just 51 balls, as South Africa defeated Pakistan by six wickets in the T20 World Cup warm-up game in Abu Dhabi.
Chasing a stiff target of 187 runs, South Africa reached home on the final delivery of the match.
Rassie van der Dussen combined with captain Temba Bavuma (46 off 42) to form a 107-run partnership for the third wicket, after Imad Wasim picked up two wickets in the third over to reduce South Africa to 15/2.
Despite the run-rate climbing, Rassie van der Dussen managed the run-chase brilliantly to take his side over the line. His innings included 10 fours and four sixes, which included the winning boundary.
Shaheen Afrid and Imad claimed two wickets each for Pakistan. However, pacer Hasan Ali and Haris Rauf turned out to be the weak links, conceding 33 runs in three overs and 52 in four respectively.

Pakistan’s openers Babar Azam (15 off 12) and Mohammad Rizwan (19 off 19) were dismissed inside the powerplay, with 36 runs on the board.
With his side needing quick runs, Fakhar Zaman, coming in at one-down, took the attack to the Proteas bowlers and scored a breezy fifty off just 28 balls. The left-hander’s knock included two fours and five sixes. He retired immediately after reaching the milestone.
After replacing Zaman at the crease, Asif Ali played the finisher’s role to perfection by scoring 32 runs off 18 balls. Meanwhile, veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik scored 28 runs off 20 balls.
For South Africa, Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/28 in four overs.
