Pakistan medium pacer Mohammad Abbas has aimed to complete a century of Test wickets in the upcoming series against Australia, starting from March 3 in Karachi.
The 31-year-old is 10 wickets away to become the 19th Pakistan bowler to bag 100 wickets in Test cricket. Speaking to media after training at the National High-Performance Center (NHPC) in Lahore, Abbas seemed excited to see Australia playing at Pakistan venues.
"We have been playing outside our home for at least 10 years. Despite playing on the outside pitches, the performance of the Pakistan team has been excellent," Abbas said.
"Now that the Australian team is coming to Pakistan, it will give us a chance to play and perform in our own conditions. "My target will be to complete my century of wickets on Pakistani wickets. If I succeed in doing so, it will be an honour for me," he added.
Abbas further added that the players are preparing well for the series. "Every country's Test team enters the field with the best combination, we are also waiting for the arrival of the visiting team and are ready to give the best performance in the home series," he maintained.
"So far the media is also reporting that Australia is sending a strong team to Pakistan. It is very beneficial to our cricket when foreign teams come to Pakistan. I hope after Australia, England and New Zealand also tour Pakistan," he added.
