The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reversed its decision to allow a "news website" to sponsor the home series against New Zealand.
The board officials had previously rejected other companies that tried to contact them and granted permission to "Dafa News," on the insistence of the company that holds the rights.

The board has always designated these websites as news sites, but recently, there has been an issue with surrogate advertising, where websites in India that were completely banned made minor changes to their names and started advertising in Pakistan.
The issue became serious when Mohammad Rizwan, who leads the Multan Sultans, wore a shirt with a logo printed with a font resembling that of a news site during the final stages of PSL, which led to a buzz on social media.
The PCB had initially decided not to make any agreements with such websites and had released a list of sponsors for the home series against New Zealand, which did not included any "news websites."
However, sources from the cricket board have stated that they were forced to give permission to only one company, "Dafa News," as they had a contract with them, and if they back out, the board will face heavy losses.
The board officials believe that no cricketer, including Mohammad Rizwan, will object to this decision as logos cannot be displayed on shirts.
It should be noted that in countries like England and other jurisdictions where gambling is legal, a company called "Dafabet" sponsors cricket under the name of a gaming company, but it is surprising that its logo is very similar to "Dafa News." The PCB stands against surrogate advertising and is taking measures to prevent it.
