Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is not in favour of playing a day-night Test series with Australia during their tour Down Under in November and December this year.
Cricket Australia (CA) has delayed the announcement of the schedule for this series due to PCB reluctance on this matter.
Pakistan is scheduled to play two Test matches against Australia in Adelaide and Brisbane, which are part of the inaugural International Cricket Council (ICC) World Test Championship. Both these venues have previously hosted day-night Test match, hence Cricket Australia wants the entire Test series to be played under lights.
However, PCB is wary of this proposal because of Pakistan cricket team inexperience in day-night Test matches, which could affect Pakistan performance negatively in the series.
According to sources, PCB likes the idea of Test cricket under flood lights, but wants all the teams taking part in the ICC World Test Championship to play equal number of day-night Test matches. According to PCB, it is only fair if all teams play under similar conditions.
Pakistan will also play three T20 Internationals as part of this tour.
