The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) incurred heavy expenses due to a case against the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), regarding bilateral series between the two countries.
According to a report by Daily Express, PCB General Manager Legal Affairs, at that time, Barrister Salman Naseer’s travelling expenses amounted up to around PKR7.1 million — spread over 10, three to Dubai and seven to England, foreign tours.
Naseer, who is currently PCB’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), went on 20 foreign tours, between August 2017 and February 2019, which resulted in a total cost of PKR10 million.

The BCCI had won the compensation case, which was filed by the PCB, after the International Cricket Council (ICC) Disputes Resolutions Committee (DRC) gave its verdict, back in November 2018.
Both boards were involved in a legal battle over the non-honouring of the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
According to the MoU, which was signed in 2014 at the time of the formation of ‘Big Three’, the arch-rivals were to play six bilateral series, four of which were to be hosted by Pakistan.
However, not even a single series was materialised as BCCI claimed that they could not get the required approval from the Indian government.
The PCB had filed a USD70 million compensation case against the BCCI but the Dispute Panel determined that the PCB should pay 60 per cent of the BCCI’s claimed costs and the administrative costs and expenses of the Panel, which was around USD1.6 million.
It must be noted that PCB Chairman, Ehsan Mani, had previously revealed that the board incurred costs of around USD2.2 million on the case.
