The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been left with two options, to play a three match Twenty20 International series against Bangladesh or consider scrapping the series altogether, after the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) stood firm in its resolve of touring Pakistan for a T20I series alone. The repeated insistence from the PCB to hold the Test series has rendered the possibility of backing out obsolete.
The BCB on the other hand has the option of playing the scheduled two Test matches anytime in the following year which means that Pakistan cannot report the matter to the International Cricket Council’s (ICC’s) dispute committee.

According to details, the tour of Bangladesh is currently in danger. The PCB’s repeated insistence has brought them to a position where backing out is not an option for them. The BCB has been vocal about its stance on visiting the country for the shortest format alone since the start.
According to sources, officials have been presented with a wide variety of options in a bid to save the series but the BCB is intent on not playing the longer format in Pakistan.
Many PCB officials believe that if the Bangladesh cricket team wants to visit Pakistan for the T20I series then they should not be stopped, so that cricket in Pakistan continues. The Chairman of the PCB Ehsan Mani however believes that the Test matches are integral due to the advent of the World Test Championship.
A final decision on the tour is expected next week.
