The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said that the allegations made by former fielding coach Steve Rixon are baseless.
PCB spokesman has clarified that the board has enjoyed cordial relations with all current and former foreign staff attached with national teams.
"Steve Rixon was a good coach who worked hard with the players and certainly helped improve team's fielding in the last two years. It comes as a surprise to us that he made unfounded allegations against PCB,” the spokesman said in a press release issued by the PCB.
It was further stated that: “The PCB strongly refutes the allegations made by Rixon in his interview, the foreign coaching staff has full backing and support of the board."
Earlier Rixon had criticised PCB for their lack of professionalism. While speaking to Fairfax Media, the Aussie said it was logical to continue with the Pakistan side as their fielding coach till the 2019 World Cup but he chose not to because of PCB’s disorganised system.
Rixon enjoyed his time with the coaching staff but he insisted that the PCB must mend their ways if they want to continue working with overseas professionals.
