PCB set to revise players’ salary cap, squad limit for PSL5

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to revise the players’ salary cap for the fifth edition of Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Pakistan Super League (PSL).

According to details, the players’ budget for each franchise, in the next season, will be around PKR 184 million. Although apart from that, PKR 15.6 million will also be available for additional support, if needed. The dollar rate has been fixed at PKR 156 for the next edition.

The number of players in each team’s squad has also been reduced from 20 last season, which was increased to 21 after the replacement draft, to 18. Franchises have also been instructed to ensure that 16 players are part of the squad at all times. The squad will comprise of three players from Platinum category, three from Diamond category, three players from Gold category, five players from Silver category, two from Emerging category and two from Supplementary category. 

The draft for the next season of HBL PSL is likely to take place in late November or early December, this year.
