Rizwan cleared of serious injury scare

Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan has been cleared of any serious injury scare, ahead of the two-match Test series against Australia Down Under.

According to sources, Rizwan is recovering fast from an injury to his right-hand finger which he suffered while batting in the ongoing three-day tour match against Australia A in Perth.

Australia A pacer Jhye Richardson’s delivery bounced more than what Rizwan expected and the wicketkeeper-batsman immediately threw the bat after being hit, as he began shaking his hand in pain.

The ball eventually flew to slip fielder Joe Burns and Rizwan had to depart after managing only six runs from 22 deliveries in a rather tough outing.

The Peshawar-born player is currently working with the Pakistan team’s physiotherapist, Cliffe Deacon, and is believed to be feeling much better.

The 27-year-old also participated in light training on Wednesday morning and is likely to don the wicketkeeping gloves if required on the third day of the tour match.
