Sammy arrives in Peshawar for Zalmi kit, anthem launching ceremony

Peshawar Zalmi Captain Darren Sammy has arrived in Peshawar to attend the kit and anthem launching ceremony.

The ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor House in Peshawar on Monday evening.

Sammy — who led West Indies to World T20 title twice — landed in Islamabad at 7:30 on Monday morning where he was received by Zalmi owner Javed Afridi and hundreds of fans.

In his message after landing in the capital city, Sammy said: “I’m in Islamabad now with my brother Javed. Peshawar is next.”

The 35-year-old received a warm welcome by fans when he arrived at the motorway toll plaza near the city as he travelled from the capital to Peshawar by road.

Sammy — who has represented the Caribbean giants in 38 Tests, 126 One-Day International (ODI) and 68 T20Is — will also visit the Army Public School (APS) in the afternoon. He is also expected to hold a press conference in the school
