Shaheen Shah Afridi was with Pakistan's squad in the UAE for rehabilitation, and Mohammad Hasnain replaced him in the squad for the Asia T20 cup 2022.
Further, Pakistan Medical Advisory Panel sent him to London for a quick recovery from his injury before the start of the T20 World Cup 2022.
As expected, he was quickly gaining complete fitness before the event.
"Shaheen Shah Afridi requires uninterrupted, dedicated knee specialist care and London offers some of the best sports medical and rehabilitation facilities in the world. In the best interest of the player, we have decided to send him there," PCB Chief Medical Officer, Dr Najeebullah Soomro said.
Pakistan will start its world cup campaign against arch-rivals India on October 23, 2022 at Melbourne cricket ground.
