'We should just stop the World Cup there' Mitchell Marsh after watching PAKvIND

Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh enjoyed every bit of the T20 World Cup clash between India and Pakistan, saying if the tournament "gets any better than that, then we are in for an amazing three weeks".

India defeated Pakistan by four wickets in the final-over drama at the MCG on Sunday after Virat Kohli stood tall at the end to take India home.

"I actually think we should just stop the World Cup there. Um, if it gets any better than that, we're in for an amazing three weeks. India v Pakistan is always an incredible game to watch. I can't imagine what it would be like to have been in that crowd and to be a part of it," Marsh said in the press conference ahead of Australia's match against Sri Lanka.

India suffered an early collapse while chasing the target of 160. However, Kohli, along with Hardik Pandya, took the match deep after Arshdeep Singh's (3/32) brilliance restricted Pakistan to 159/8. Kohli went after Pakistan bowlers to remain unbeaten on 82 off 53 balls.

"But yeah. Amazing. Virat Kohli has been through an indifferent 12 months when you think about his career. And for him to do that, um, you know, put his mark on the World Cup and it was an incredible innings to watch, an incredible game. So hopefully, there's a few more of those," Marsh added.

Arshdeep Singh set the tone of the match as he struck on his very first ball. He dismissed Pakistan captain Babar Azam for a golden duck. The India left-arm fast bowler went on to get rid of Mohammad Rizwan and became the first bowler to remove both Pakistan openers in the same innings.

Meanwhile, the defending champions Australia find themselves in a difficult situation, having lost their opening match to the 2021 runners-up New Zealand. Australia would look to bounce back when they play against Sri Lanka on October 25.
